After returning to NYC from my final season at the Santa Fe Opera, I accepted the position of full time Scenic Artist at Konduit NYC. I quickly gained more responsibilities and transitioned into the role of Scenic Charge over the following months. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sampling and application of all scenic treatments, management and instruction of the scenic crew, hiring and scheduling of scenic artists, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, coordinating between departments (often during simultaneous builds), tracking of scenic labor, ordering of materials, and documenting past job colors and treatments.

Konduit is a fast paced work environment with little room for error due to tight build schedules, and inflexible install deadlines. Common types of projects that we build are photo shoots for print media, immersive experiences, product launches, and special events. We install scenery at various locations across NYC, and occasionally out of state. It is commonplace for us to have two to four projects with overlapping builds, so organization and consistent work practices are paramount.
